Fashion designer Kathryn Marie Gallagher, whose lifeless body was discovered in her Manhattan apartment last July, has now been identified as the victim of a homicide. The New York City Office of Chief Medical Examiner has confirmed that Gallagher’s death was caused by acute intoxication from a lethal combination of fentanyl, p-fluorofentanyl, and ethanol.
Authorities responded to a distress call on July 24, 2022, regarding an unresponsive woman found in her Eldridge Street apartment. Upon arrival, officers discovered Gallagher deceased on her bed. It wasn’t until recently that the deceased woman was publicly identified as Kathryn Marie Gallagher, aged 35.
The medical examiner’s office revealed that Gallagher’s death was linked to a drug-facilitated theft, although no details were provided regarding potential missing items from her residence.
Investigators suspect Gallagher may have fallen victim to a series of drug-related robberies that have claimed the lives of at least five others, according to police sources.
On the evening prior to her demise, a neighbor assisted Gallagher into her apartment. Concerned when they observed her door closed with the key still in the lock, they entered to check on her welfare, only to find her lifeless on her bed.
No suspects have been identified in connection with Gallagher’s death, which is one of 26 cases under investigation by local authorities between March 18 and December 8.
